At Dean’s Baby Beans, coffee is more than a drink; it’s a movement. We started roasting with a cast-iron skillet, a few pounds of green beans, and a big idea: make incredible coffee that fuels real-world impact.

Founded by Joey and Bre Coon in Springdale, AR, our small-batch roastery hand-crafts every bean using Peachwood, Pecanwood, and Applewood flame. This old-school method preserves authentic flavor while keeping our process transparent and intentional.

Every sale contributes directly to fighting child exploitation and supporting organizations that rescue and rehabilitate victims. Our goal is simple: to make your morning cup a meaningful one.

Hand-Roasting Method

At Dean’s Baby Beans, every batch of coffee begins with hands-on craftsmanship. Joey, our founder and master roaster, personally roasts the green beans himself over a real open flame using a big cast-iron skillet. Unlike the electric roasters used by most competitors, our wood-flame approach creates a unique balance of aroma, flavor, and character.

Each roast combines Peachwood, Pecanwood, and Applewood to infuse the beans with natural smoke and subtle sweetness that can’t be replicated through automation. This process demands patience and precision, listening to the crack, watching the color, and adjusting the flame by feel. It’s roasting the old-fashioned way, where intuition and passion guide every batch.

The result is coffee that’s not just bold and aromatic, but deeply personal. Every cup carries Joey’s signature touch, giving our customers a fresh, flavorful experience that celebrates both the craft and the heart behind it.

We believe exceptional coffee starts long before the roasting process; it begins with responsible sourcing. At Dean’s Baby Beans, every bean we roast is hand-picked at the perfect stage of ripeness, when the coffee fruit (cherry) reaches its natural peak. This ensures that each batch delivers exceptional flavor and consistency.

We work with trusted small farms that prioritize quality and care over volume, ensuring that every harvest reflects sustainable farming and ethical labor practices. Unlike machine-harvested coffee, which often mixes underripe and overripe beans, our selective hand-picking method guarantees a clean, balanced cup free from bitterness.

Once sourced, the green beans are carefully transported to our Springdale roastery, where they’re roasted over real wood for added depth and character. This commitment to high-quality sourcing allows us to offer premium coffee with rich flavor, smooth body, and a story of integrity in every sip.

No two coffee drinkers are the same, and at Dean’s Baby Beans, we celebrate that individuality through full customization. We plan to offer a “Build Your Bean” experience where customers can personalize every aspect of their order, from the origin of the beans to the roast profile.

Whether you prefer a light, bright roast with citrus notes or a dark, smoky cup with bold body, our customization feature will make it possible to create your ideal brew.  Customers will be able to select origins such as Africa, Brazil, or Central America, then pair them with their preferred roast level: light, medium, or dark.
